Excellent Staff at Joplin Eye Care, serving the Four State Area with Dr. W.
R. Meredith, M.D.
With a General Surgical background, and specializing in
Ophthalmology, Dr. Meredith came to Joplin in 1979, and has since been among
the very first to utilize the safest and most modern of medical and surgical eye
procedures.
He was the first in Joplin to use Retinal Photography for
Glaucoma and Diabetes, and the first to perform LASER for Diabetic retinal
hemorrhages. This was followed by the PHACO ultrasound for cataract, LASER for
Glaucoma, Small Incision foldable Cataract Implants, no-needle Anesthesia, and
no-stitch Cataract Surgery. He also implemented Bandage contact lenses for
corneal injuries in Joplin.
Dr. Meredith used the first Nerve Scanners
for Glaucoma, and his favorite preventative eye Supplement has been Essential
Fat Omega-3 (Fish-Oil !) since 1996. His most recent addition is Digital
Photography of the retina for diabetic, macular, glaucoma, & vascular exams
of the internal eye.

RACHEL is our
CEO & office manager. She organizes the staff, co-ordinates appointments,
simplifies insurance, handles correspondence, and assists the Doctor. She has 30
years of experience in the Ophthalmology world !
DIANNE is our
insurance specialist. She handles the complex insurance and billing claims, as
well as phone & mail correspondence. She & Brittany share 16 years
experience.
LISA is our Senior Ophthalmic Technologist, initiating your
medical or surgical encounter. She has specialized in ophthalmic exams, eye
surgery, refractions and glasses. She has recently moved here from Texas with
her family, with 20 years previous ophthalmic experience.
BECKY and
AKESHIA are our Ophthalmic Technicians, and can assist with you with each office
visit. They specialize in Visual Fields, Glasses, Refractions, Photos, and other
parametrix, as well as assisting Rachel, Lisa, Brenda, Dr. Meredith, and
YOU.
TONYA has recently joined our team, and brings her previous
excellent experience in medical care to our office.
Our employees most
important job is helping PATIENTS with excellent vision care. They are trained
as ophthalmic assistants, helping Dr. Meredith with your evaluation, and any
questions. These may include * appointments or emergencies, * surgery or
medications, * glasses or contact lenses, * consultations, retinal
photos, * neurologic visual fields, * final instructions, &
follow-up.
BRENDA is our Optician. She manages our excellent Optical
Shoppe for all your glasses needs, from the latest fashions in frames, to
no-line Multifoclas, to protective Sun-ware, to post-operative care. She offers
you more than 30 years career experience in the optics industry, and works
closely with Dr. Meredith, and the entire staff. She can give you expert
guidance, the very best quality, and excellent competitive prices.
